Growing up in the 70's and 80's, some of my fondest memories are of my mother baking homemade bread, delicious ice cream and sewing my dresses. she was a hard working doctor who found time to enjoy making us her treats. It was this nostalgia, remembering the wonderful smells of our mother's kitchen, that inspired me to cook up handmade batches of delectable lip balm. I created the recipe LipJoy 7 years ago in my kitchen, which was originally sold as Hiwa-Lani brand lip balm. In 2010, I decided to re-brand the name to LipJoy... inspired by my mother who's nickname was JOY.  

 

All my creations are made from rich organic nut butters, smooth Shea, Fair-trade Coconut oil and decadent Cocoa Butter. The consistency is creamy like fresh Gelato, with plenty of natural antioxidants to keep lips healthy. A hint of essential oils for flavor and a splash of sunflower for shine make for positively luscious lips. I look into each ingredient with an earth conscious eye, keeping it fresh and organic with names you can pronounce. I make it in small batches which means the lip balm you're getting has probably been made recently in my kitchen. ( note: it's best not leave LipJoy lip balm sitting in your car on a hot day as the product itself is soft and "melty".)
